Enter your pay, rota, and leave once. Every calculator uses the same numbers.
This sets honest notes and presets for your kind of schedule. It never changes the math.
Enhancements are added on top of your base rate, the way your payslip does it.
Percentage uplifts are how some pay systems price nights and weekends (the NHS Agenda for Change is one): each kind of shift adds a percentage of your base rate instead of a flat amount.
If your schedule varies, enter your average week. Results will be a close estimate, not an exact count.
Honest scope: this app is built for staff on a set weekly schedule. If you work bank-only with no set week, or agency shifts with no leave entitlement, it does not model your situation honestly yet.
Agenda for Change: overtime starts past 37.5 hours in a week, at time and a half; part-timers get plain time up to 37.5. The 8 and 80 rule is a US hospital rule.
The day your trust starts the work week. It decides which hours count together for overtime, and how stacking lines up. If Sunday is effectively your Monday, that is Sunday.
Some trusts work to local agreements that differ from Agenda for Change. If yours does, your real bank shift pay may differ from what is shown.
Stacking means working your week's shifts on fewer days, so a short stretch off can cost little or no leave.
Some employers grant the whole year's leave at the start of the leave year instead of accruing it hour by hour (NHS annual leave works this way).
Enter your annual leave only. If your trust keeps a separate sick leave record, leave those hours out.
Some employers stop your accrual once your balance hits a maximum. Enter that maximum and forecasts stop growing there. Leave at 0 if there is no cap.
Some trusts take bank holiday hours out of your leave entitlement. If yours does, count the bank holidays charged per year.
Time off you have already promised yourself before this stretch. It comes off the top so the answer stays honest.
Optional. Leave both at 0 if your trust pays no bank shift bonus.
Replay the intro, walk the guided setup again, or look at the worked example.
Pick the first and last day off. Weekends and how your shifts are arranged are already in the math.
Both dates are required. Enter your first and last day off, then tap Calculate.
Shortfall means hours you do not have yet when your time off starts.

Weeks run from your chosen week start, the way rotas are posted.

Set a goal in pounds and a deadline. A bank shift is an extra shift picked up on the bank. We work out what one is worth to you, overtime and enhancements included, before tax.
Bank shift availability depends on your ward or unit, and extra shifts can be scarce. If bank shifts are hard to get, the set-aside figure on the Time Off tab may be the realistic path.
Rest guardrail: bank shifts are always optional. Skip any pace that would push you past your trust's hour limits or leave you short on rest.

The day your stretch starts can change its leave cost.
Only if your unit allows it. Your manager's approval governs.
Example: 3 shifts a week. Your schedule is in Try a stretch below.
Starts Wednesday - work the edges: 0 Leave shifts
Starts Sunday - straight through: 3 Leave shifts
Same days off. Different arrangement. Very different cost.
